Women in Mazar-i-Sharif flock to buy burqas following Taliban takeover

A resident of Balkh, “To say during the last days those Bazaars have the most income now that is the selling veil and burqa, beside that the rate have risen too. The Taliban says that we don’t take revenge from any, and women, they say by keeping veil and according to the Sharia rules women can continue their education and qualifications.”

“These are new generation, by of the Taliban the people are not familiar with them, the people have bought many burqas, I buy and sell burqas even 6 or 7, the people bought burqas for their sisters or families,” A shopkeeper said.
