Pulitzer prize-winning journalist killed in Kandahar

KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN-JULY 18: The body of Indian Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Danish Siddiqui, who was killed on an assignment in southern Afghanistan, was transported to a local hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on July 18, 2021. According to reports, the 41-year-old, who was the chief photographer for Reuters India, had been allegedly ambushed by Taliban militants near a border post with Pakistan on Friday. “In the Spin Doldak district the killing of the Indian journalist has been impacted on the journalist’s moral, it has been proved once again that the opposite fighters are not respecting the roles, by such attacks the journalists would give up and will know how to manage their tasks.” Explained, Siddiqullah Aliza, Afghan journalist.

Dr. Dawood Farhad, Head of Mirwais Hospital added; “Last night around 8:30pm we have been received three dead bodies, among them there was an Indian journalist too”.
