Mortar attack killing 5 and 12 wounded in Zabul

ZABUL, AFGHANISTAN, JULY 31: Five civilians killed and 12 others were wounded after a mortar shell landed on a civilian house in Qalat, the capital of the southern Zabul province, Afghanistan, on July 31, 2021. Among the killings, three children including two women were killed. Zabul hospital chief physician, Nazir Harifal, said in a statement. AFGHAN MULTIMEDIA AGENCY

A wounded person, Abdula Hanan says; “It was evening period I was set with my friends and it was our gathering place, the mortar landed and hits our house which were killed many of my family members and some others were wounded, and they are hospitalized here.”

“The wounds are my cousins and brothers, they are all the people of the villages, the mortar landed in our village that killed at least 5 people, and wounded our others members. The Taliban do such acts, and the government do the same acts on us, to who we must raise our voices,” explained, Rahmatullah, an affected man.
