A young laborer stated, of course not just me, all people suffer poverty and life difficulties, there are no employments and work opportunities if they release frozen money first of all the work system starting and people can create job opportunities, no jobs, to say a laborer work just 1 dollar daily, and from 1 dollar they feed themselves, and spend for transportation to home, and can’t bring at least 10 Afghanis to home.

The WFP head of communication explained, that the levels of hunger we are seeing in Afghanistan right now are unprecedented, we are seeing 19 million people who are experiencing acute food insecurity this including six million people who are one step away from famine. So, since the beginning of the year, WFP has assisted more than 21 million people with food assistance from January to June, this is around half the population of Afghanistan looking forward to which winter, we believe that this will be maybe slightly below but we’re looking at nearly half of the people who will need food support to get through the next month.

Added, we are now in August WFP is working on prepositioning a hundred and fifty thousand metric tones which is enough food to support two million people for five months through winter, this food needs to be bought and pre-positioned and brought into the rugged remote mountainous areas before winter comes and before the roads are closed.

The sanctions impacted people’s economy, for example, if a teacher receives just 78,91 dollars monthly, how does he/she should deal with prices? A tank of oil was about 14 dollars but it is about 33 dollars a tank of 10 liters of oil, and 7 kilos of sugar is about 5 dollars now, a shopkeeper said.
